HYDERABAD, May 13: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that the district government has planned an integrated development plan to achieve unparalleled development in rural areas to bring them at par with urban areas of the district.

He said that 45 development schemes had been started at a cost of Rs170.923 million in the rural taluka.

He was speaking at foundation-stone laying ceremonies of reconditioning of two roads one each from Hyderabad New City to Wanki Wasi, Tando Jam to Moosa Khatian road upto Railway crossing and construction of a road from Moosa Khatian village to Shah Latif mosque in Bheenpur village.

Addressing a gathering at Moosa Khatian village on Friday, the nazim said the district government believed in service of people without any discrimination.

He said that this was evident from the fact that nazims of union councils where he was opening development schemes were the stronghold of another party. He said that the MQM represented and believed in the service of all the people regardless of party affiliations.

He said that within four to five months of his tenure, mega development projects at the cost of billions of rupees had been launched in the district for the welfare of people.

Giving details, Kanwar Naveed Jamil said that Rs608 million were being spent only on development schemes of roads in the district. He said that as compared to Rs130.58 million for Hyderabad city, an amount of Rs170.923 million was being utilized on roads of the rural taluka.

He said this was an abundant proof that the district government was giving a top priority to development of rural areas.

Speaking at the stone-laying ceremony of road from Moosa Khatian village to Shah Latif mosque built by the great saint of Sindh, Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, at his birth place, the district nazim said that some political parties and leaders of Sindh who always used the Sindh card and received votes from innocent people of Sindh had ignored this historic place.

He said that by laying foundation-stone of the road for Shah Abdul Latif mosque, the MQM had not only given priority to deprived areas in development works but also proved to be custodian of historical assets, places and legacy of Sindh.
