LAHORE, Feb 6: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Aml, an organization of six religious parties, will hold talks with the PML(QA) of Mian Azhar and the Millat Party of Sardar Farooq Leghari on Feb 12, says a Jamaat-i-Islami press release.

Jamaat leader Liaquat Baloch issued the press release after a meeting on Wednesday with provincial PML(QA) chief Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Millat Party secretary-general Muhammad Ali Durrani during which the situation in the country and matters concerning the next elections were discussed.

The release said Majlis leaders Liaquat Baloch, Pir Ijaz Hashmi and Riaz Durrani were in contact with the PML(N) as well.

It quoted Mr Elahi as saying that his party would prefer to have electoral cooperation with religious and other like-minded parties.

Mr Baloch also met APC convener Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan. The Nawabzada said at the meeting that a meeting of the APC steering committee would be convened very soon to map out a line of action to protect the constitution and resist the formation of anti-terrorism courts under the new law.
