GUJRAT: Four young tourists from Gujrat have been missing along with their car in Deenyor locality of Gilgit since May 16 last.
Family sources said Wasif Shahzad (36) and Umar Ehsan (20), both cousins of Kot Gakka near Mungowal, Salman Nasrullah Sandhu (23) of Jassoki village and Usman Dar (23) of Saroki had gone to the northern areas around 10 days ago.
Their last contact with their families was established on May 16 morning when they left a guest house in Deenyor. Since then their phones had been switched of.
Their phones location was village Shah Allah Ditta Jaglot in Gilgit as their next destination was Skardu as per the last telephonic conversation.
The family had submitted a formal request with the Rescue 1122 Gilgit Baltistan DG for tracing these individuals.Abdul Rauf, the first cousin of two of the missing youth, said the heirs had been in severe stress.
Deenyor police have registered a report of the missing youth and also booked the owner of the guest house where they had stayed for a night. The case is lodged on the report of ASI Muhammad Ayub of the same police station under 11 Gilgit Baltistan Temporary Residence Act 2016(iii) for not entering the stay of these youth into the hotel record.
Moreover, Abdul Rafay, a close kin of the missing youth, has also filed a complaint with the same police station seeking search of the missing men.
Inspector General Police Gilgit Baltistan Muhammad Afzal Butt told Dawn that efforts were afoot to search for the missing persons.
