Three youngsters die as bike run over by oil tanker in Gujrat

GUJRAT: Three youngster died on Friday when the motorcycle they were riding was run over by an an oil tanker at a U-turn on the GT Road near Panjan Kasana in Kharian Saddar police precincts.

Rescue 1122 officials say that three youngsters, identified as Ahmed Nadeem (19), Samiullah (16) and Waseem Azhar (20), residents of Jandanwala village, riding a motorbike, were run over by a speeding oil tanker when they taking a U-turn. As a result, all of them died on the spot.

On being called, police and Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the house of the deceased youngsters.

The police impounded the oil tanker for legal action and started looking for the fleeing driver.

In another incident, a man died and two others were injured when a speeding truck hit the pedestrians standing along the GT Road in the Rakh Pabbi Sarkar area of Kharian.

Reports say that the speeding truck hit three pedestrians standing along the road. As a result, one of them, Tariq Khan (29) died on spot, whereas two others – Abid Khan and Mudassar Khan – were injured.

A Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and shifted the body and the injured men to Kharian Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

The deceased and the injured persons were residents of Islamabad, the rescuers said.
