He said a proposal had been approved few days before after holding a number of meetings and discussions with the commerce ministry officials including federal commerce minister, Humayun Akhtar.

The chamber would guarantee economic boost and quick industrialisation in the underdeveloped district besides helping the business community and dealing with other issues such as unemployment and poverty, he said.

It emerges as an effective platform to resolve the problems of businessmen and providing them proper technical guidance for investment in the right direction, he said.

He said all necessary measures were being taken to make ACCI’s office in operation and he hoped it would start functioning in one month’s period after finalising all required formalities and arrangements.

Special task had been given to the founder chairman to ensure operation of the chamber as soon as possible, he said. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz was expected to inaugurate ACCI office.
