ISLAMABAD: A bunch of Red Zone Commando policewomen lodged a complaint with senior officers, complaining about harassment by their fellow policemen and demanded to take action against them, sources told Dawn.

A police officer told Dawn that in response to the complaint senior police officers transferred one of the policemen, a clerk, responsible for assigning duties, and appointed a policewoman on the post.

However, no inquiry was ordered so far to establish the fact and fix the responsibility, he added.

In the complaint, the policewomen stated after establishing Red Zone Commando Unit in the Security Division 10 lady constables were deputed at the unit. Since the deployment the clerk used to harass them, it added.

All the lady constables are form fresh badge and not well aware of the working of the police, the complaint said, adding that the clerk along with two other policemen used to harass and blackmail them and if any of them objects, they teased them on te pretext of duty assignments, including forced them to wash the washroom of the unit.

The lady constables also asked to confiscate the mobile phones of the three policemen and conduct forensic examination to get all the evidences regarding the harassment and blackmailing.
