LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday rejected a police investigation into the alleged abduction of PTI MPA Ahsan Riaz Fatyana after he returned home two weeks ago.

A government lawyer submitted a report on the malfunctioning and operational cameras of the Punjab Safe City Authority, stating that only three out of 11 cameras on Bedian Road were functional.

The investigation SP of Cantonment also appeared in court and stated that every aspect was being reviewed for the recovery of the alleged missing MPA.

Justice Ali Zia Bajwa expressed displeasure at the SP for submitting a vague report. He regretted that no proper investigation had been conducted in the matter.

The judge directed the DIG investigation to personally appear on Oct 25 along with a progress report.

Ashifa Riaz, the mother of the MPA, filed the petition, claiming her son had been abducted again by unidentified men days after he returned home from his disappearance.

She requested the court to order the police to recover her son and present him before the court.
