LAHORE: The Punjab government on Tuesday promoted 26 officers from BS-18 to BS-19.

The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) issued a promotion notification for several Provincial Management Service (PMS) officers to higher ranks, with immediate effect.

Among the officers promoted, Faisal Atta, previously serving as additional secretary at the Punjab Cooperative Board for Liquidation (PCBL), was promoted and appointed as secretary at the same board, filling a vacant position. Hussain Bahadur Ali Shah, additional secretary at the Chief Minister’s Office, Lahore, was promoted while retaining his current position.

Tauseef Dilshad Khatana, who was serving as additional secretary in the Labour & Human Resource Department, was promoted to BS-19 but will continue in his current role. Additional Director at the Punjab Education Foundation, Mohsin Bilal, was promoted and reassigned as additional secretary (technical) in the Food Department.

Dr Safdar Hussain, awaiting a posting, was promoted and posted as additional commissioner (coordination) in Sahiwal, replacing Shafiq Ahmad Dogar, who was promoted and directed to report to S&GAD. School Education Department (SED) Additional Secretary Abdul Razzaq was promoted and directed to continue at his post. After actualizing his promotion, he will be transferred to the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board as Director (Finance). Muhammad Sajjad Gondal, previously at the Punjab Food Authority (PFA), was promoted and posted as director (civil defence), Lahore. Following his promotion, he will return to the PFA. Quaid-i-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED) Additional Director General Naila Tayyab was promoted and will retain her current position.

Other officers promoted to BS-19, who will continue in their present postings, include S&GAD Additional Secretary (regulations) Muhammad Shahzad, Communication & Works Department of South Punjab Additional Secretary Ghulam Yasin, SED Additional Secretary Farhat Hussain Farooq, Information & Culture Department Additional Secretary (Admn) Muhammad Saleem, Information and Culture Department Additional Secretary (culture) Awais Nawaz, Board of Revenue Director (land records) Muhammad Nawaz Gondal, Public Prosecution Department Director (monitoring) Muhammad Aslam Shahid, Higher Education Department South Punjab Additional Secretary Attaul Haq, Punjab Institute of Management & Professional Development Director (Academic) Moeen Ahmad, SED Deputy Secretary Muhammad Arshad, Planning & Development Board Chief of Section Bushra Naseer, Planning & Development Department, South Punjab Additional Secretary Akhtar Mandhaira, Energy Department Additional Secretary Qazi Ijaz Ahmad, Chiniot Deputy Commissioner Safiullah Khan and Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation Director (Admn) Muhammad Hanif.

Meanwhile, Punjab Revenue Academy Project Director Tariq Khan Niazi was promoted and transferred to the post of Secretary, Punjab Commission on the Status of Women, Punjab, to actualize his promotion. After the actualization of his promotion to BS-19, he will be transferred and posted as project director, Punjab Revenue Academy, under the Board of Revenue, Punjab, against an existing vacancy. Farooq Haider was promoted to BS-19 and posted as director, Punjab Small Industries Corporation, against a vacant post, while Sahiwal Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Khalid Mahmood Gilani was relieved of the additional charge of the post.
