LARKANA: A man drowned while bathing in Dadu Canal in Larkana and a 12-year-old boy died when he fell into a pond while playing on its embankment near his home in a village in Jacobabad district on Thursday.

A wielder Syed Sajjad Shah, 22, was bathing in Dadu Canal in Faridabad village, 15 kilometres from Larkana, along with other workers to beat the heat. He fell unconscious while bathing and drowned.

The victim was a resident of Qafila Serai locality, Larkana, and had gone to the village to work on a welding contract.

He was taken to the Chandka Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Boy drowns in Jacobabad

A 12-year-old boy Ahsan son of Mohammad Afzal Rind was playing by a pond near his home in Dato Khan Rind village when he slipped into deep waters and drowned.

The bereaved family said that they searched for the missing boy everywhere but could not find him and finally found his dead body in the pond.

They said that they took out the body and rushed it to civil hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
