HYDERABAD, March 17: The Awami Tehrik has decided to observe a protest week from March 20 to 26 against demolition of Sindhi villages in urban areas. The party also decided to appoint a legal committee to draft a report about land grabbing in Sindh. This was decided at a meeting of Awami Tehrik here on Thursday.

Talking to reporters at the end of meeting, AT chief Rasool Bux Palijo said that the Sindhis were being dispossessed with malafide intention and added that this was tantamount to their political, social and economic genocide. Mr Palijo criticized the MQM and the Sindh government for displacement of Sindhis who had been living in their ancestral villages for centuries.
