KARACHI: A teenage suspect was shot dead by a citizen in Surjani Town on Sunday morning, police said.

Area SHO Asadullah Agha said that two robbers attempted to loot an unidentified citizen in Gulshan-i-Noor. The citizen, who was armed, put up resistance and opened fire on the muggers, resulting in bullet injuries to one of them. The armed citizen left the scene before the arrival of the police.

The wounded suspect was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

He was identified as Bilal Yasin, 18, and the police said he had a past criminal record. A pistol was recovered from his custody.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist, Asif Shakir, 25, was shot at and wounded by robbers over resistance near Kaneez Fatima Society on Sunday.
