MUZAFFARGARH: PML-N leader Amjad Khan Chandia and his cousin suffered injuries in a firing incident here on Thursday at his outhouse in Sarwar Shaheed tehsil.
Police said the injured were immediately shifted to Tehsil Saddar Hospital for treatment and are in a critical condition.
According to the victim’s family, unidentified assailants opened fire on Chandia and his cousin while they were sitting at his outhouse in Sarwar Shaheed tehsil.
Amjad Khan Chandia was the PML-N candidate for the provincial seat in Chowk Sarwar Shaheed and the son of former MPA Sardar Azhar Abbas Chandia.
SDPO Sarwar Shaheed Azhar Sangi arrived at the scene and later at the hospital. He stated that police had initiated an investigation and were actively working to trace the suspects.
