ISLAMABAD: More than 100,000 people are participating in the annual three-day religious congregation, Tableeghi Ijtema, organised here in the outskirts of the federal capital.

The mammoth assembly of faithfuls will conclude tomorrow (Sunday) with prayers for the salvation of Palestinians from the atrocities of Israel, freedom of Palestine, glorification of Islam, pursuits of Quran and Sunnah in all ways of life, prosperity of Muslims all over the world.

Faithfuls from all over the region including Attock, Kamra, Taxila, Wah, Kalar Kahar, Kalar Sayedan, Kotli Sattian, Murree and other adjoining areas arrived at the Tableeghi Markaz Masjid Abu al-Qasim near old Motorway Toll Plaza. Prominent religious scholars including Maulana Ibadullah, Mauvlvi Khursheed, Maulana Mohammad Ahmad Batla made speeches and gave sermons at the gathering advising people to shape their lives according to the teachings of Quran and Sunnah.

Volunteers had made full security arrangements, cleanliness, water supply, parking arrangements. Everything went on peacefully and no adverse incident was reported.
