SSGC apathy

Published February 24, 2024

THERE has been no natural gas supplied to my house (Consumer No: 2894430000[4]) for the last two years, but the bill is received promptly every month, which I have been paying regularly in the hope that one day gas will also be supplied.

The motto of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), written on the bill, is ‘Service with a Smile’, which negates the ground reality as there is neither the service nor the smile. The SSGC is the only utility company that keeps charging a monthly amount without providing any service at all. This is despite a court ruling to the effect that the customers should not be charged any money during the period when no services are provided.

My numerous efforts to get the provision restored have gone waste despite having lodged repeated complaints. No one has even bothered to visit my house for locating the problem. If the SSGC management is unable to provide the gas, there is no justification to continue slapping its customers with the monthly charges.
