MALAKAND: Two people were killed and three others received injuries in two separate incidents in Batkhela and Aladhand Dheri areas here on Thursday.

According to Levies officials and locals, armed assailants shot dead Amir Noosh of Palai Sher Khana in Batkhela Bazaar and injured two passers-by identified as Fazal Maluk and Aurangzeb of Batkhela.

The attackers tried to escape after committing the crime. However, Levies personnel chased them and arrested them in Sholgara area. The motive behind the murder was stated to be old enmity.

The second incident took place in Aladhand Dheri where Wajid and his three accomplices allegedly ambushed a Suzuki pick-up vehicle near Azimabad link road, killing Zahidullah and injuring his father Raham Bacha.

Raham Bacha told Levies officials at district headquarters hospital in Batkhela that he along with his sons was going home from Batkhela in the vehicle when Wajid along with his three accomplices opened fire on them as a result his son Zahidullah died while he himself got injuries.

The motive behind the incident was enmity. Kameen Khan, a brother of Wajid, died last year when Raham Bacha’s car accidently hit him on road and died due to injuries. He said that they tried to settle the dispute through negotiations but the accused were not ready.
