TOBA TEK SINGH: A businessman was burnt alive in a fire breaking out in his office late on Saturday in Mianchannu city.

Rescue 1122 officials say Nabil Afzal Gujjar fell asleep in his private business office located in Husnain Abad locality with a gas heater turned on to keep the place warm.

Late in the night, a fire broke out because of gas leakage and engulfed the office.

As a result, Gujjar was burnt alive in the incident, they said.

Meanwhile, two boys were seriously injured when a bus hit their motorcycle on Shorkot Cantonment Road at Jhang.

As per Rescue 1122 officials, the youngsters, identified as Husnain (15) and Ali Hassan (11), who were on their way to Shorkot city when the accident occurred, were seriously wounded.

They were shifted to Shorkot THQ Hospital for treatment.

BOOKED: Mianchannu city police have booed eight employees of local divisional public school for allegedly stealing Rs800,000 from the school office.

As per the FIR registered under section 380 of the PPC, on the complaint of the school Principal Rai Safdar Hussain, the suspects, including examinations controller Ijaz Saleem, accounts officer Usman Rafiq and their six accomplices, stole away the amount collected as fee from the school.

A police source claimed that the suspects, during interrogation, confessed to have committedthe theft, but did not return the money.

ROBBERY: Robbers allegedly took away 13-tola gold ornaments and other valuables from the house of a furnace oil dealer at Khanewal on Saturday night.

The oil dealer,Tariq Nonari, informed Khanewal Sadar police that five robbers forced their entry into his house in Madina Town and took the family hostage at gunpoint.

He said they collected gold ornaments and other valuables and fled away.
