The Amazing Spider-Man No. 1 auctioned for $1.38 million

A copy of The Amazing Spider-Man No. 1 from March 1963, was auctioned for a record-breaking $1.38 million.

The issue, which features Spider-Man’s first encounter with the Fantastic Four, is one of only two copies to receive a grading of Near Mint/Mint 9.8 from the Certified Guaranty Company.

The comic book, which was released only seven months after the character’s debut in Amazing Fantasy No. 15, was auctioned by Heritage Auctions and fetched a high bid of $1.38 million, the most ever paid for a copy of Amazing Spider-Man No. 1. The previous record, sold in July 2023, was $520,380.

Selena Gomez to return for Wizards… sequel pilot

Wizards of Waverly Place stars Selena Gomez and David Henrie will return for a sequel at Disney.

Disney Branded Television has ordered a pilot for a revival of the fantasy sitcom. Henrie will reprise his role of Justin Russo as a series regular on the show, while Gomez will return as Alex Russo as a guest star in the pilot. Henrie and Gomez will both executive produce.

New cast members include Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele and Mimi Gianopulos.

The original Wizards of Waverly Place had a four-season run-on Disney Channel, from 2007 to 2012 and followed Alex (Gomez), Justin (Henrie) and Max (Jake T. Austin), three wizard siblings living in New York City.

Messi’s World Cup teaser shows his preps for 2022, World Cup

Apple TV+ is teasing the new show Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend.

The docuseries, which premieres February 21, tracks the career of Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi, including his five FIFA World Cup appearances and his win at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“In his own words, Messi tells the definitive story of his incredible career with the Argentina national football team, providing an intimate and unprecedented look at his quest for a legacy-defining World Cup victory,” an official synopsis reads.

The show features interviews with Messi, along with conversations with teammates, coaches, competitors, devout fans and commentators.
