People who speak different languages other than their mother tongue or the official language of their country, have advantage over those who cannot. Knowing and speaking a different language, or more languages, is an added skill to your personality.

In my opinion, it is never too late to learn a language other than your mother tongue or the one officially spoken throughout the country. This is where I became hooked on to LingoDeer — a language learning platform that has a unique approach to teaching languages to kids and youngsters.

What I like most about LingoDeer is its visually appealing, clean and clutter-free interface; with a milestone chart in the centre, and on the left side of the homepage, you can check your progress in a diagram.

Choose a language from the dropdown languages category offered by the site. While it might be a bit disappointing for some of you as the platform doesn’t have a huge database, it still covers popular languages such as Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Chinese and more. Each course is designed with proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced learners. The lessons are well-structured, including a variety of exercises with listening, speaking, reading and writing components. The site uses game-like features, for instance, as you choose a language of your interest to learn, the new page will show you steps, in a kid-friendly map, showing the stage you are currently at and as you successfully pass a stage and move on, your progress is shown on a map, just like reaching a new level in a game or quiz. You will also be challenged with a ‘test’ stage where your learning skills will be examined. And guess what, the stages get difficult as you progress.

LingoDeer saves your completed tasks, lessons, quiz scores and overall proficiency, but only if you register on the site.

However, had the site included more languages in its database, it would have been great. But still, a gamified approach to learning makes it an ideal choice for young learners. Whether you’re a beginner aiming to refine your language skills, or in an advanced stage, LingoDeer’s well-designed courses and user-friendly interface make it a compelling choice for many language enthusiasts.
