UNFAIR CHARGES: The caretaker government has recently announced increasing the driving license fee. Previously, the fee was Rs60, which is now increased to Rs1,000. The abrupt hike is totally unfair and will discourage people from getting their license made. It means that more people would prefer to violate the law by driving without a license. If the government sincerely wants to encourage people to get their license, it should reconsider the matter and make the process swift and easy.

STRAY DOGS: The residents of Clifton blocks 1 and 2 are facing serious trouble owing to the large number of stray dogs roaming the streets, especially at night, making life dangerous for the passers-by. Besides, the constant howling of the canine fellows disturbs the peace of mind of the residents. The nights are also scary for the people as the law and order situation is worrisome in the absence of street lights along the road connecting the two Clifton blocks.

A WELCOME STEP: Finally, with the initiative of launching Pakistan’s own locally-produced hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) production facility, the country has moved one step closer to the fulfilling the commitments that it has been making to transition itself away from the current fossil fuel-based auto industry for a greener Pakistan. This initiative will surely further strengthen the local automobile industry which needs this boost rather badly.
