LAHORE: Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman and his wife Ayesha Baligh on Sunday met with the children of SOS Children Village at Governor House.
The governor emphasised the importance of education and character building of the children whom, he referred, to as the future of our nation.
He praised the management and team of SOS Children Village for their exceptional care of the children.
He highlighted the institution’s role in providing good care, education, and training to children deprived of natural parents, and commended them for their service to society.
Governor Rehman stressed the importance of collective contribution towards the welfare of such children to make them responsible citizens.
He also reminded everyone of the teachings of Islam, which encourages treating children deprived of parental care with compassion and love.
Addressing the children, Rehman welcomed them to the historic building of the Governor House, stating that their presence had brightened up the building.
He encouraged the children to work hard, think positively, and strive for the betterment of humanity and the country.
Also present at the event were National Director SOS Children, Saba Faisal, and Chairman SOS Children Village Lubna Lashari.
The children were given a tour of the Governor House by the administration, marking a memorable day for them.
