PESHAWAR: Pashto writer Saidul Amin Ahsan has brought out a collection of features detailing contributions of 46 leading poets, writers and researchers.

The newly published book titled ‘Spaizalee’ spreading over 387 pages has hit local bookstalls and also earned widespread appreciation from literary circles.

Dr Fazalur Rahim Marwat has termed the anthology a praiseworthy academic attempt as it contains valuable information about noted Pashto literati and researchers, whose literary contributions are immense during the last several decades and their writings have registered deep impact on a host of generations.

“The book offers a deep peep into lives of legendary poets, writers and intellectuals, whose works added to our social values and set trends for quality work for the future generations.

The anthology in fact has documented literary figures and icons from historical perspective so that researchers and literary historians could benefit from its contents,” he said.

Writers laud author for his quality research work |and style

Prof Syed Hanif Rasool Kakakhel in his commentary has stated that the most authentic knowledge of the eminent literary figures, portraying each of them in their most obvious shades, Ahsan has brought to the fore the nuances of Pakhunkhwa’s virtuoso.

He says that the author of the book deserves to be reckoned as a scholarly literary and cultural commentator on the contemporary Pashto literature. He says that the book will be read with great interest and admiration owing to its quality stuff.

Farhad Mohammad Ghalib Tareen Kheshgi, another senior writer, remarks that the work of Saidul Amin Ahsan is valuable addition to Pashto treasure trove and youngsters will always benefit from the vision of the writer. The publication is a worthy commentary on individual writer’s life and works in a comprehensive way, he adds.

Prof Yar Mohammad Maghmoom Khattak, however, believes that the writer has not limited his own critical view on the literary figures to a particular region or tribe but has picked up personalities according to his own preferences in the light of his research and weight of contributions.

Gul Mohammad Betab, a noted writer, says that the anthology has been arranged on scientific lines keeping in view modern approach to research pursuits so that every personality could get due space and

significance. Even relatives of the deceased literati have been contacted for extraction reliable information, he adds.

Faizul Wahab Faiz in his flap on the book says that the book lends out a way to young literati how to critically analyse life and literary services of literary giants in a befitting manner. It combines research, criticism and analytical view to

bring out contributions of gems of Pashto literary figures of the 21th century.
