LARKANA: The Lar-kana circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Wednesday reserved judgment in contempt of court reference against former SHO and two constables of A-Section police station Shahdadkot for detaining a judicial magistrate. All the contemnors have tendered unqualified and unconditional apology.

Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi, who was appointed by Chief Justice of Sindh High Court to hear the reference, said the judgment would be announced on Oct 9

As the proceedings started, the contemnors Anwar Ali Brohi, ex-SHO of A-Section police station and constables Nadir Ali Brohi and Hassand Khan Magsi said in a statement filed through their counsel that apart from and irrespective of their preliminary reply to the show-cause notices and the documents filed earlier they placed themselves at the mercy of the court by tendering unqualified and unconditional apology over the “untoward circumstances in the present matter and assured the court of remaining obedient to the courts of law, judicial officers and judicial staff” in future.

The court had on Tuesday framed charges against the contemnors which they had denied but when the witnesses civil judge and judicial magistrate-I Shahdadkot, Siraj Ahmed Shar, Judicial Magistrate and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, admin in-charge of sessions court Qambar-Shahdadkot recorded evidence before the court the contemnors once again tendered unconditional and unqualified apology.

After hearing the additional prosecutor general Ali Anwar Kandhro and the counsel for the contemnors Habibullah G. Ghouri regarding the statements, the court adjourned the proceedings to Oct 9 and reserved the order. The court asked the witnesses to be present on next date of hearing.
