TOBA TEK SINGH: A woman was arrested on Thursday for allegedly fabricating charges of Quran desecration against some people of her locality.

According to an FIR registered by the Tandlianwala City police under Section 211 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 16 of the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance 1960, 21 complainants claimed that the suspect was a drug peddler.

When local residents confronted her about this, she not only threatened to desecrate the Holy Quran to spread false information but also threatened to incite violence in the locality.

They alleged she intended to falsely implicate the local people in the Quran desecration case that occurred in Jaranwala on Aug 16.

The police have shifted the suspect to the Faisalabad district jail.

INJURED: Four laborers were injured when an upper-story outer wall collapsed on them during the construction of a house in Model City, Faisalabad, on Thursday.

Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the DHQ hospital.

The injured were identified as Zahid Sharif, Dilawar Maseeh, Tahir Nazir, and Haroon Ghafoor.

In another incident, a car plunged into Rakh branch canal near Jhaal bridge on Samundri Road, Faisalabad, leaving driver Qasim Ali injured. He was rushed to the DHQ hospital.

STOPPAGE: Pakistan Railways has reinstated the stoppage of Karachi-Lahore 27 UP and 28 Down Shalimar Express Train at Toba Tek Singh and Khanewal.

A notification states that this change will take effect from Saturday.

ACCIDENT: One person died and three people of a family were injured in a road accident in Gojra near Adda Dawakhri on Gojra-Painsra Road.

According to Nawan Lahore police, Muhayuddin of Chak 280 JB Duggal Kotli was riding the motorcycle with his sister Perveen and her two minor children as pillion passengers when the van ran over their motorcycle.

The injured people were rushed to the Gojra THQ hospital.

ROBBERY: Dacoits robbed a cattle feed manufacturing factory in Samundri near Chak 142 GB early on Thursday morning, making away with electric motors and feed bags worth more than Rs2.7 million.

Ten robbers entered the factory, held a security guard at gunpoint, and loaded eight electric motors and feed bags onto a pickup truck.

RESCUE: A farmer is feared to have drowned in the River Jhelum at Jhang near Machiana Pattan, located on Athara Hazari-Khushab Road, on Thursday evening.

Rescue 1122 said Allah Ditta, of Mauza Sial Wala (Sargodha), was bathing his animals on the riverbank when he slipped into the river.

Rescue efforts are currently underway to locate him.
