SUKKUR, Jan 30: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has ruled out the apprehension of influx of illegal immigrants in Sindh through the Khokhrapar rail route. He was talking to newsmen while visiting the recently found historical site of ‘Lakhian Jo Daro’ in Sukkur on Monday.

He said immigration and other agencies were vigilant enough to control attempts of illegal migration.

He said the Khokhrapar-Monabao route would prove to be affective only when it improves relations between the two countries.

Dr Rahim said construction of a railway station at the zero point instead of Khokhrapar was a decision of railway authorities.

Hesaid a road was under construction up to the Khokhrapar railway station, which he would soon inaugurate.

Dr Rahim said all historical places, including Lakhian Jo Daro, would be taken care of.

He disclosed that a conference would be held soon at Ranikot and Gorakh hill station where President General Pervez Musharraf also participates.

The chief minister said the remains of Lakhian Jo Daro would be investigated through scientific methods and services of foreign experts would be sought.

On the occasion, he ordered complete excavation of the site and announced a grant of Rs1 million for the purpose.

Earlier, he visited Lab-i-Mehran situated near the Sukkur barrage and inspected ongoing beautification work.

He announced Rs20 million for second phase of the work.
