HYDERABAD, Jan 29: Activists of the Awami Action Committee for Rights of People at the Tando Alam oil field staged a protest demonstration and sit-in outside the press club here on Sunday against the OGDCL administration.

They raised slogans against the oil field administration.

Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Haider Khoso, Ramesh Kumar and Dr Haider Malookani said the oil field had been discovered 25 years ago but the people of the area were deprived of basic facilities.

They demanded that the agreement signed between the government and the company and amount of funds allocated by the OGDCL for development of the area should be made public.

The protesters demanded that an oil refinery be set up at the oil field and local people should be provided technical training and jobs.
