MANSEHRA: A robber was killed and two brothers, who put up resistance during an attempt to loot their shop, received critical injuries in Channia area in the wee hours on Saturday, the police said.

According to the FIR lodged with the city police station, four armed robbers entered a scrap shop, but the owners – Rehmatullah and his brother, Musa Khan – who were asleep inside their tents adjacent to the outlet, woke up and started shouting.

The robbers opened fire at them, leaving both of them seriously injured, but the latter also fired at the thieves, killing one of them on the spot. His three accomplices managed to flee.

The police shifted the injured brothers to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital.

The body of the thief was also shifted to the same health facility.

Meanwhile, the police arrested four youth for stoning a seven-year-old boy to death in Pulrah area three days ago over a petty issue.
