MUZAFFARGARH: A youth on Monday jumped into the Chenab and rescued a woman who was thrown along with her daughter into the water by unknown car riders.

Later, Rescue 1122 recovered the body of her daughter from the river.

The incident took place on Monday morning on Muzaffargarh-Multan road where unknown motorists threw a woman and her daughter from the bridge into the Chenab river.

The moment they were thrown into the water, a passer-by youth jumped into the river and rescued the woman identified as 65-year-old Farzana Bibi, a resident of Rajana area.

According to police, on the identification of the woman, Rescue 1122 found body of her daughter after a four-hour search operation and transferred it to the Muzaffargarh district headquarters hospital.

Muzaffargarh police are looking into the matter.
