50kg hashish seized

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Tank police on Thursday recovered 50kg of hashish buried underground in Manjikhel area by unknown drug dealers, DSP Inam Khan Gandapur told Dawn.

He said the police recovered 50kg hashish following a tip-off in this regard. The local police registered a case against unknown drug peddlers and have started investigations.

Meanwhile, Tank police in another operation arrested a gang of thieves for stealing cables of power transformers. Stolen cables were also recovered from the possession of the accused.

The DSP headquarters said that unknown persons were stealing cables from transformers in Tank for last few days during nighttime. He said that a raiding party under SHO Asghar Khan Wazir arrested the gang members and had also recovered the stolen cables from them.
