KARACHI: Veteran journalist Imran Aslam was laid to rest at a Defence Housing Authority graveyard following his funeral prayers on Saturday.

A large number of people including family members, friends, journalists and colleagues from media fraternity attended the funeral prayers held at his residence.

His Soyem would be held on Sunday (today) at his residence between Asr and Maghrib.

Imran Aslam, 70, died on Friday. He was unwell for some time and was undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

He had a great career in journalism. Geo News, Geo Entertainment and Geo Super were launched under his leadership. He was also the founding member of the English-language newspaper The News.
