SWABI: A youth was killed and three others were injured when a car going in a wedding party met an accident on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway here on Saturday, the police said.

The deceased was identified as Ejaz, 19, and the injured as Kamran, 22, Fawad, 18 and Asmat Khan, 18.

The injured and the body were shifted to the Bacha Khan Teaching Hospital in Shahmansoor.

The marriage patty was going from Mardan to Ghazi area.

The deceased and the injured also belonged to Mardan district.

Meanwhile, Wahab Khan, an uncle of one of the injured, Asmat, opened fire on his brother, Rafiq Khan, father of the wounded youth, inside the hospital’s emergency, for allowing the youngster to drive the car despite knowing he wasn’t good at driving.

The firing caused panic among the patients and hospital staff.

When contacted, SHO Zaida police station told Dawn that the police reached the hospital after being informed about the firing incident and arrested the suspect along with the pistol.
