GILGIT: The Federal government has approved the opening of a campus of the National College of Arts (NCA) in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) from December.

According to a statement issued by GB chief secretary Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani, the National College of Arts team led by the vice chancellor Murtaza Jaffery visited Gilgit on Saturday for finalizing the establishment of NCA GB Campus.

Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani announced that by the end of third week of December, NCA will establish a campus in Chillmisshdaas in Gilgit. He said short courses on designing and visual arts of two weeks to six months will be started soon.

He said in the meantime a fullfledged state of the art campus will be constructed in the same vicinity to accommodate the feeding cadre in the same campus for under graduate classes.

The faculty of Lahore campus of NCA will come and equip the students of GB with those skills which are modern and highly employable.
