DERA GHAZI KHAN: The local municipal corporation issued on Saturday tenders for lids after a youth died while his sibling was struggling for life after their bike hit an open manhole on Friday night on Model Town-Gaddai road.

Hamza, son of police constable Fayaz and a student of sixth class, was on way home along with brother Tayyab. Hamza died on spot while Tayyab sustained a critical head injury in the crash.

Tayyab was referred to the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, by the doctors of Ghazi Medical College Teaching Hospital.

Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chattha has ordered an inquiry to fix responsibility in case of any negligence. He also approved tenders worth Rs3 million for purchasing lids.
