LARKANA: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday appointed Prof Dr Hakim Ali Abro as acting vice chancellor of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Larkana.
The universities and boards department has issued the notification after former VC Prof Dr Aneela Attaur Rehamn relinquished the charge on Sept 24 on completion of her four years terms and since then the slot remained vacant.
Prof Dr Hakim Abro, according to university sources, has taken over the charge of the acting vice chancellor.
In a letter written to the CM on June 27, 2022, the outgoing VC indicated that her four-year tenure would be completed on Sept 24, 2022. She had requested the CM for initiating the process in due course of time in the best interest of the institution as per practice in vogue.
