ISLAMABAD: Robbers and thieves looted cash and valuables in almost 24 strikes in capital, police said on Saturday.

In the first incident, two armed persons entered the house of Abdul Latif in Bahria Town and held up his parents at gunpoint the police said, adding that later they grabbed Rs97,000, gold and diamond ornaments and ATM cards and fled.

In another incident, two gunmen came to a shop of Azizur Rehman in B-17 and looted Rs70,000 at gunpoint.

Two gunmen intercepted Farhad Ali at Thanda Pani and deprived him of a motorcycle, Rs2,000 and a mobile phone.

Three armed persons intercepted Hamid Husain in front of his house in I-14/1 and snatched six tolas gold ornaments, Rs2,500 cash, a pistol and a mobile, the police said, adding that a robber deprived a man of a rider service of a Motorcycle and cash, police said

Similarly, two persons armed with weapons deprived Sultan Mehmmod and Hazima Sajjad of Rs28,500 and a mobile phone from, the police said, adding that two gunmen intercepted and held up Sheraz Sohail and his friend in I-9 and looted two mobile phones and Rs5,500.

Moreover, some burglars broke into a house of M. Tahir in I-10/4 and made off with cash, watches and a pistol, the police said, adding that a housemaid working in the house of Samar Minallah in F-8/1 made off with 10 tola gold ornaments from her bedroom and with cash, and more gold ornaments from her mother-in-law’s bedroom.

In a similar incident, a housemaid working in the house of M. Ammar in F-7/4 and made off with an iPad and two watches and gold ornaments worth Rs800,000, they said, adding that thieves stole Rs270,000 cash and three mobile phones from the residence of Amir Suleman in G-9 Markaz.

Besides, thieves also stole a mobile phone worth Rs150,000 of Nimra Nazir in Chatha Bakhtawar, a mobile worth Rs30,000 and a cat worth Rs40,000 from a Toyota XLI of Tariq Aziz parked in Blue Area after breaking a glass, and two mobile phones, from an office of bank manager Imran Mehmood in Tarnol, the police said.

Culprits snatched a mobile phone from policewoman Saba Tabraiz at Kachnar Park, from Junaid Abbasi at Expressway, they added. Meanwhile, a Mehran was stolen from Faizabad, while seven motorcycles were stolen from F-8, G-8/2,Noor Town, Abdulla Town, G-8/3, I-9/4, and Ghauri Town, the police said.

Gujar Khan

Thieves and robbers stole and looted cash and valuables worth millions of rupees in Gujar Khan, Mandra and Jatli police.

Barjeen Akhter, a resident of Jairo Ratiyal in Gujar Khan, told police that a boy from her locality allegedly entered into her house and stole Rs200,000 cash and a two mobile phones.

Amjad Iqbal complained to the police that a month ago thieves had stolen machinery worth Rs300,000 from the factory where he works and on Tuesday steel bars worth Rs5,000 were also found missing from the unit.

Another resident of Jairo Ratiyal, Ibrat Ali reported to the police that he lives in Rawalpindi with his family and had locked his house in Gujar Khan. When he returned to his home after a month, two water motors worth Rs36,000 were stolen.

Mohammad Aqeel told Mandra police that spare parts worth Rs300,000 were stolen from his shops.
