The Pakistan Bazaar police said people caught the two unknown muggers during a robbery attempt at Shah Faisal Chowk in Orangi Town-14 and give them a beating, killing one suspect on the spot and injuring his accomplice.

A police patrol rushed to the spot and seized one 9mm pistol and a motorbike from them.

The body and injured were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the wounded suspect died during treatment.

DIG-West Nasir Aftab said that two muggers riding a motorbike arrived at a shop and tried to commit a robbery. When the shopkeeper put up resistance, the suspects resorted to firing, but the shopkeeper remained unhurt.

In the meantime, other shopkeepers gathered there, caught the outlaws and subjected them to severe beating, leading to the death of one suspect on the spot while the other died during treatment. The incident occurred at around 3:30pm.

The DIG said the identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately. Investigators have taken their fingerprints while their possible criminal record was also being checked.
