SUKKUR: The Federal Shariat Court (FSC) on Saturday established its bench within the building of Sindh High Court’s Sukkur bench on Saturday. Acting Chief Justice Syed Muhammad Anwar along with Justice Khalid Hussain of the FCS inaugurated the new bench.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Justice Anwar expressed his pleasure over the opening of the new bench and said it would benefit a large number of litigants from Sukkur and Larkana divisions as well as their surrounding areas.

The people would no more have to go to Karachi or Islamabad for seeking justice in cases pertaining to religious matters, he said.

“Inauguration of the Shariat Court bench at Sukkur will also disburden judges of high courts to a great extent,” said Justice Anwar.

He noted that FCS benches were being established in different regions to reduce burden of cases of religious nature on high courts.
