KARACHI: Senior journalist Muhammad Jami, who passed away on Saturday, was laid to rest on Monday.

His son, Imran Jami, told Dawn that his father died after a brief illness. He was 79.

The funeral prayers were offered at an area mosque and he was buried at the Scout Colony graveyard in Scheme-33.

With an unspotted career, late Jami had spent more than five decades in the field of journalism and remained associated with different dailies, weekly magazine and evening newspapers.

He also served as the editor of country’s renowned evening newspapers TheStar and Daily News.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
