ISLAMABAD: An elderly man was killed during robbery at a house located near the Aabpara police station, police said on Sunday.

Eid Badshah, said to be in his late 80s, along with his servants lived in the house at G-6/3.

Four armed men raided the house at around 10am and overpowered the two servants. They thrashed a servant identified as Ismail and held a maid, Shabana, at gunpoint.

The robbers manhandled and threatened Badshah during which he collapsed and later died.

The robbers ransacked the house and looted Rs150,000, two iPads, two Rolex watches and gold ornaments, the police said. Besides, they also snatched a mobile phone and Rs6,000 and a watch from the servants. Leaving the house, they also took away a Honda Civic.

The police said the deceased’s children lived in the UK. He was a heart patient and had been operated upon thrice.

In response to a complaint lodged by the victim’s younger brother Abdul Rehman Khattak, the police registered a case and launched an investigation.

The complainant suspected that a former driver of his elder brother was behind the robbery and murder.

A spokesman for the police said the elderly man died after the robbers fled from the house.
