TAFTAN: Members of different political parties and local traders on Friday blocked the RCD Highway at Saindak Cross in protest against the prolonged closure of the travelling gate and joint border market at Taftan, a town near the Pak-Iran border in Chagai district.

The protesters staged a sit-in on the highway, leaving all kinds of traffic suspended for several hours.

They demanded that travelling gate Rahdari, which is used by the residents of bordering districts of both countries to meet their relatives, and joint border market Bazarcha be reopened at Taftan.

They also called for reopening the entry point along Afghan border.
