QUETTA: Commander of 12 Corps Quetta Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali has said the extremist outfits banned by the government have no concern or interest in solving the real problems of Balochistan.

Speaking at a grand tribal jirga attended by tribal elders belonging to different tribes, political leaders and notables of Naseerabad division in the auditorium of Cadet College Jaffarabad on Sunday, he said: “The extremist organisations banned by the government have no interest in finding out solution to the real problems in Balochistan.”

The corps commander also inaugurated the auditorium of the cadet college. Balochistan Assembly Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali and members of the national and provincial assemblies were present on the occasion.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, Gen Sarfraz paid tribute to the teachers of the college for their high academic standards and congratulated the parents of the passing-out students.

He said the flourishing educational institutions in the province guaranteed bright future of the coming generations. Mentioning the successful inauguration of Girls Cadet College in Turbat, he expressed the hope that more educational institutions would be established in future.

Gen Sarfraz said wars were fought not by the armies but by the nations. “The support of the nation is the real strength of the army.” He appealed to the people to cooperate with the committees set up at the district and divisional levels to resolve issues.

The corps commander appreciated the commitment of the people of Naseerabad division towards peace, education and development and hoped that with the provision of more water resources, the division could become the food basket of not only Balochistan but also Pakistan.
