TOBA TEK SINGH: A man shot dead his bank officer sister for ‘honour’ on Tuesday at Faisalabad Chak 280 RB with the help of his cousin.

Complainant Ali Hussain said in the first information report registered with the Dijkot police that Saddam suspected that their sister Sumera, 26, had an affair with someone. On Tuesday, she was on leave when Saddam took her to see their other sister on his motorcycle.

He took Sumera to a graveyard where their cousin Gulfam was present. They both shot her dead, and they were burying the body in an already dug grave when some people saw and challenged them. They fled the scene, leaving the body behind.

The police were conducting raids to arrest both suspects.

PROTEST: Scores of farmers of dozens of villages located around Adda Khewa blocked traffic on Jhang-Chiniot Road at Adda Khewa for more than two hours on Tuesday to protest the non-availability of fertiliser.

As a result, long lines of vehicles were seen on both sides of the road. Protesters reached Adda Khewa on tractor trolleys and parked on the road to block traffic.

Their leaders said if the fertiliser supply was not restored to their area, they would protest at the same place daily.
