RAWALPINDI: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her cousin in Kallar Syedan.

The alleged assault took place almost three months ago but the victim’s mother filed an FIR on Oct 9.

When the victim’s family member was asked why the case was not registered in July when the suspect committed the crime, he said: “The girl, a fourth-class student, had not revealed the assault at that time as the suspect had threatened her.”

He further said police help was sought on Saturday after the girl narrated the story to her mother when the suspect tried to grab her again.

He said the suspect had not been arrested as yet.

In the FIR, the victim’s mother said she lived in Arazi Khas Kallar Syedan and her husband’s brother lived across the street with his family.

Her eight-year-old daughter, she claimed, used to play with her uncle’s daughter, who is almost the same age.

She said on July 5, her daughter went to her uncle’s house to play with her cousin, and that when she returned home she was crying and complaining of stomach ache.

The complainant said that she also observed blood stains on her daughter’s clothes but ignored. However, she said she got worried when she returned home on Friday from her uncle’s home and was upset.

When she pressed her, the girl told her that her uncle’s son tried to grab her, but she ran away.

She also told her mother that she had been subjected to ‘sexual assault’ allegedly by him almost three months ago and was trying to grab her again.
