ISLAMABAD: Girls outclassed boys by grabbing majority of the positions in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) (matriculation) Examination 2021 conducted by Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).

According to the results announced by FBISE on Monday, in Science Group, the first position was shared by three students. Mohammad Saarim Husnain of Army Public School, Okara Cantt, Rabia Sarfraz from Fazaia Degree College Shorkot Cantt and Zoya Ahmad from Headway Escuela Junior and High School Chaklala Scheme stood first by getting 1,098 marks each.

Similarly, second position in this group was also shared by three girls students — Kainat Suleman from Army Public School and College Rawalpindi Cantt, Zainab Ali Bangash from Garrison Academy, Kharian Cantt, and Asma Ismail from Saleem Nawaz Fazaia College Karachi — as all obtained 1,096 marks each.

Third position was bagged by Ushba Fatima as she by grabbed 1,095 marks.

In Humanities Group, Gulshan Fatima from Fauji Foundation College New Lalazar Rawalpinid clinched the top position by securing 1,092 marks.

She was followed by Hafiza Tanzeela Sehar from FG Girls School Chaklala Cantt, who got 1,090 marks while Saleeha Nawaz also from Fauji Foundation College Lalazar bagged third position with 1,089 marks.

The results were announced at a ceremony held here at FBISE building. Federal Security Education Farah Hamid Khan was chief guest on the occasion.

FBISE Chairman Qaisar Alam briefed the secretary about salient features of the results.

Federal Secretary appreciated the position holders and expressed best wishes for their future endeavours.

According to results, this year 112,531 students were enrolled and out of them 111,306 were declared pass and the pass percentage stood at 99.85.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, this year the FBISE conducted exams of elective subjects only and students were given marks in other subjects based on their performance in elective subjects.
