Seminary teacher ‘sexually assaults’ student in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: A seminary student was allegedly sexually assaulted by his teacher who also tortured him in the limits of Waris Khan police area.

In a complaint to the police, the victim’s older brother said his brother had been learning the Holy Quran at the seminary for the last one month.

On Thursday, he said he received a phone call from his brother’s teacher who asked him to take his brother away because he could not teach him any longer.

He said when he was returning home with his brother he noticed that he was unable to walk properly. He took him to a doctor, as they suspected he had been infected with Covid-19.

After medically examining the boy, the doctor asked his brother to check whether the boy had been tortured by someone. On inquiry he revealed that he was in the seminary when his teacher took him to his room and allegedly sexually assaulted him.

He then asked him to go outside and sit with other students who were learning their lesson. The victim also accused his teacher of torturing himy. The Waris Khan police have registered a case, but the suspect was yet to be arrested.

Meanwhile, a woman was allegedly raped by a property dealer in Kallar Syedan area on Tuesday, police said.

The victim said in her FIR that she was interested in purchasing a piece of land to build her house. She said after showing her a piece of land, the suspect called her to his office to settle other details of the deal. She said as she reached his office, he started convincing her for sexual relations, but she refused and tried to escape from his office.

She said despite trying to run away, she was forcibly dragged inside and raped by him. The police have registered an FIR on the complaint of the victim. The suspect was yet to be arrested.
