KHAIRPUR, Nov 2: A boy, Azmatullah Shah alias Jugnoo, son of Syed Ali Madad Shah, Sajjada Nasheen of the Ibrahim Shah Bukhari Akri shrine, was laid to rest in the shrine’s graveyard on Tuesday night after post-mortem.

The doctor who conducted the post-mortem at the Pakka Chang rural health centre confirmed that the boy had been tortured and then strangled.

Main towns of the Faiz Ganj taluka, Akri, Mehmood Shah and Jafar Jalalani, and other nearby towns remained closed to mourn the death of the boy.

Syed Ali Madad told journalists on Wednesday that despite informing police, no search was conducted in the area for three days and on the fourth day, the body of his son was found.

He said the incident was the result of non-cooperation of police.

Police have arrested Hamid Shah, a devotee of Syed Ali Madad, in this connection. Police sources claimed that the suspect had confessed the murder of the boy.
