Life lessons in cartoons

This is regarding the cover story ‘’Life lessons in cartoon’’ by Faraz Ahmed (YW July 3). It was a very interesting article. I was surprised after reading that the cartoons I watch have some valuable lessons hidden in them.

I always share these interesting articles with my parents. My mother told me that she has also watched some cartoons, like Popeye, Bob the builder and Scooby Doo in her childhood, but never thought of these cartoons having lessons in them.

Similarly, I watch cartoons for fun but after reading this article, whenever I will watch a cartoon, I will try to see the hidden message or lesson in it. Thanks to YW contributors for providing us with amazing content.

I loved reading “Life lessons in cartoons” by Faraz Ahmed because it was all about cartoons, one of my favourite things.

I never thought of cartoons as giving us lessons, but the article made me realise that seemingly funny stories that revolve around cartoon characters have underlying deep messages for kids as well as adults.

Lessons like living a better life and having a good attitude, also the difference between good and bad and a lot more that we hardly notice. But, I hope now kids will understand and try to see the hidden messages these cartoons have.

Free podcasts on books

This is with reference to the website review “Free podcasts on books” by Asif Ali (YW, July 3). I found this website review very informative.

During the current pandemic, schools are closed and we have only a few things to do. Thus, this review helped to provide us with information about a website where we can increase our knowledge by listening to worthwhile podcasts. I look forward to more reviews like this in the future.

Fog on the terrace

The story “Fog on the terrace” by Komal Ishtiaq conveyed the message that smoke is dangerous for the environment as well as for all living things. The writer also highlighted some issues harmful for the flora and fauna.

In my opinion, we can play our part in reducing the hazardous effects of smoke by planting trees, because trees are a vital source of providing oxygen and making the environment healthier. Therefore, we kids should take an immediate initiative to plant trees in our area.
