DADU: Panic gripped Sehwan city when people felt trembling of earth and buildings at about 11.45am on Tuesday.

There were, however, no reports of casualties or damage till late in the evening.

Hundreds of people rushed out of their houses and other concrete structures in panic and gathered in open spaces fearing that an earthquake might have hit the area.

A similar situation was witnessed on the outskirts of the city.

No statement was issued about the tremor from the office of the deputy commissioner till late in the evening, nor was it confirmed by seismology officials or any other relevant department.

The situation normalised after about an hour with people returning to their daily routine activities.
