LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has approved a special remission of 60 days in the sentence of convicts on the occasion of Eidul Fitr to facilitate hundreds of prisoners, incarcerated in various jails on petty crimes, to celebrate Eid with their loved ones.

A notification in this regard has been issued by the Punjab Home Department.

The chief minister has also asserted the government commitment to reform the archaic jail manual, according to emerging needs, to bring ease to the lives of inmates.
