Disney’s film about Cinderella’s evil stepsisters

Disney is coming up with a movie centring on Cinderella’s evil stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella. The new movie is a reimagining of the Cinderella fairy-tale, which Disney previously adapted as a 1950 animated film. The film will follow Anastasia and Drizella from their early childhood to Cinderella’s marriage and beyond. The sisters will struggle to uphold their family’s legacy. Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum will executive produce.

Peeps is getting their own motion picture!

The marshmallow candy Peeps is getting the animated feature treatment. In the spirit of Trolls-meets-Smurfs, it follows a ragtag group of Peeps who set out on a cross-country journey to attend the celebration Peepsfest in Pennsylvania. Bethlehem, PA, is where the company Just Born Inc. produces the candy, as well as a growing line of Peeps-related merchandise.

Keith Domalewski, Just Born’s director of marketing and consumer engagement, said: “Peeps Chicks and Bunnies have been ingrained in American pop culture for nearly seven decades due to their instantly recognisable shapes and fan-favourite marshmallow taste, making them the perfect characters to bring to life on the big screen.”

Superman’s first comic book sets auction record

A 1938 comic book featuring the first appearance of Superman sold for a record-breaking $3.25 million in an auction!

Online auction house said Action Comics #1, which bore a price of only 10 cents when it was released in 1938, fetched a high bid of $3.25 million, setting a new record for the highest price paid for a comic book.

The seller had purchased the comic three years ago for a sum that was $1 million less than what it sold for in the auction.

Vincent Zurzolo, co-owner of ComicConnect, said in a news release that the comic, in ‘near-pristine condition,’ is a rare find for collectors.
