PESHAWAR: The University of Engineering and Technology has planned to facilitate the foreign students, who are inducted through Higher Education Commission, by relaxing the postgraduate admission criteria.

The 37th meeting of Board of Advanced Studies and Research (Boasar) was held on Thursday with UET Vice-chancellor Prof Iftikhar Hussain in the chair.

Prof Rizwan Gul, the secretary of Boasar, presented the agenda items. The members of the board vowed to facilitate the foreign students, especially Afghans, who showed interest in postgraduate programmes of the university.

However, the international students, who apply directly to UET Peshawar, will have to pass IELTS/TOEFL as per the approved admission policy.

The meeting was attended by Prof MA Irfan, senior dean; Prof Amjadullah, dean faculty of electrical and computer; Prof Sirajul Islam, dean faculty of architecture, allied sciences and humanities; Dr Rawaid Khan, the director postgraduate studies; Prof Misbahullah and heads of departments.
